New Jeep Wrangler to Use Lightweight Aluminum Material Weight Reduction 200 pounds

Novelis's offices in Oswego, New York and Kingston, Ontario, Canada will supply 2018 Jeep Wranglers with high-strength, lightweight aluminum.

According to reports, this lightweight aluminum material（7075T651 aluminum plate） will be applied to 2018 models of Jeep Wrangler's doors, fenders, swing gates and windshields, etc., which can significantly reduce vehicle weight and improve vehicle fuel economy. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will become the more fuel-efficient Wrangler model ever produced by the FCA.
According to the FCA, the new Wrangler will be 200 pounds (91 kg) lighter than the previous iron material Wrangler model. Jeep fans will be pleasantly surprised to find that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler's door will be 14 pounds lighter than the previous Wrangler, and the gas mileage will be increased by 3 miles per gallon.

The demand for automotive aluminum materials（5052H32 aluminum plate） will increase in the future. According to a 2017 survey conducted by Ducker Worldwide, from 2015 to 2028, the aluminum content of North American passenger vehicles, especially light trucks and SUVs, will increase by 42%.
